Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia

Welcome to the website of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia!

As of 1st December 2009, and the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, my colleagues at the Delegation of the European Union - and myself as the first EU Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia - will have a challenging and rewarding task: accompanying Croatia on the path to becoming the next (28th) Member State of the European Union.

Croatia is at the threshold of the European Union, though there are a number of challenges to be tackled before that threshold can be crossed. The Delegation of the European Union is here to accompany this process to a successful conclusion.

One of the main tasks of the Delegation of the European Union will be to continue to work to provide as much information as possible in the run-up to the Croatia's accession to the EU.

The internet is only one, but certainly a very important, communication tool which we shall continue to develop and make available in order to assist and motivate you to search for relevant information on the EU in general, and on the EU’s relations with Croatia in particular.
