Maltese Parliament Ratifies Croatia´s Accession Treaty

The Parliament of the Republic of Malta unanimously ratified the Treaty of Croatia's Accession to the European Union on 5 March. Malta has thus become the fifth of the 27 EU countries that need to ratify Croatia's accession Treaty by 1 July 2013.
Croatian ambassador to Italian Republic and Republic of Malta, Tomislav Vidošević, attended the voting on the ratification of the Accession Treaty in Maltese parliament. During his visit to Malta, he met the Speaker of the Parliament Michael Frendo. Frendo used the opportunity to express his particular satisfaction with Croatia's forthcoming accession to the EU and with the fact that Malta is among the first countries to ratify the Treaty.
The two officials also discussed possibilities for further bilateral cooperation, particularly in the Mediterranean dimension of the European Union.
